SASH Research Development Sessions act as a mechanism for strengthening research ideas, grant proposals, and manuscripts. One person – faculty, post-doctoral researcher, or student – will share her/his concept/proposal with a group of SASH co-directors, participating scholars, and students to elicit feedback that will assist in strengthening ideas/proposals/manuscripts. Topic areas of research development sessions must relate to sexuality and/or sexual health. SASH co-directors, participating scholars, and interested students will review materials prior to the session. These sessions will meet 2-3 times per semester and will last approximately one hour. If you are interested in participating, either as a session leader or reviewer, please contact Eileen at eallen@sdsu.edu. We are excited to have you join us in our inaugural session on Friday, October 23, 12-1pm.

SASH Journal Club (Led by Eric R. Buhi, Ph.D.)
When: Friday, September 25, 2015, 1:30-2:30pm
Where: 9245 Sky Park Court, San Diego, CA 92123-4311 (Sky Park Conference Room, Ste. 221 “Fishbowl”)
The SASH Journal Club is a group of individuals who meet once each semester to discuss and critically evaluate recent articles in the academic literature. Typically, discussions will focus on the appropriateness of the research design, statistics employed, and implications for sexuality and sexual health research and practice. Even if the results of the study are seen as valid, there might be a discussion of how useful the results are and if these results might lead to new research or to new applications. Such discussions allow for graduate and undergraduate students and other scholars to become more familiar with the advanced sexuality and sexual health literature. If you are interested in participating in the next SASH Journal Club, please contact Dr. Buhi at ebuhi@sdsu.edu. We are excited to have you join us for our next SASH Journal Club on Friday, September 25, 1:30-2:30pm.
